The kitty turned out to have congenital abnormalities: curvature of the spine and chest. Whether this is linked to the neurological problem, and whether the condition can be corrected, is still to be determined.
Koni has been moved to a paid foster carer (no volunteer came forward). Koni has trouble urinating independently, which should improve once acupuncture starts. So far about 200 GEL has come in altogether. 120 has been transferred to the foster carer.
